JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: Student Program Specialist POSITION INFORMATION: Responsible for assisting in a student program by providing administrative assistance, classroom support, distributing information, collecting and maintaining data, assisting with student activities and projects, communicating, correspondence, etc. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: 1. Administrative Assistance. Assists in the management of the program. Serves as the initial contact in regards to the program by answering the phone, processing inquiries, and directing calls. 2. Classroom Support. Assists instructors with the classroom setup to which may include far side oversight, exam administration, attendance tracking, student group coordination, technical assistance, and classroom startup and shutdown. 3. Information Distribution. Provides information to students, faculty, advisors, prospective students, and the outside public regarding enrollment, programs, graduation, grade changes, withdrawals, deadlines, etc. Distributes student mail, papers, exams, and other materials as necessary. 4. Data Maintenance. Maintains various forms of data for the program. May include student transcripts, records, test scores, personal information, etc. 5. Data Collection. Collects data and submits various materials. Gathers information through verbal and written inquiry, and evaluates or prepares presentations, newsletters, etc. 6. Project Coordination. Assists in coordinating and carries out projects or assignments pertaining to the education, recruitment, or activities of students. May include event planning, producing in-house publications, performing public relations functions, etc. 7. Activity Assistance. Assists in coordinating activities and functions such as student recruitment, admission, retention, and student life. 8. Correspondence. Reviews and responds to routine correspondence for the office personnel and sometimes in the name of the supervisor. 9. Communication. Assists coordinating communication between various campuses and departments. 10. As Needed. Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position. REQUIREMENTS: Education: High School Diploma or GED. Experience: 24 months experience student affairs, counseling, recruiting, or closely related field. Certifications/ Licenses: Equivalent/ Substitution: Preferred: Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities/ and Other Characteristics: 1.
