JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: Senior Account Clerk POSITION INFORMATION: Performs routine clerical duties, posting, depositing, quality assurance, report preparation, budget preparation, coordination, data analysis, record maintenance, financial assistance, etc. and may lead functional process and/or may supervise other less senior account clerks. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: 1. Clerical Duties. Performs a variety of clerical duties such as typing, filing, routing mail, and composing routine reports. 2. Posting. Posts to journals, ledgers, or records using standardized procedures and simple codes. 3. Depositing. Makes deposits and prepares all related documents. 4. Quality Assurance. Ensures accuracy and completeness of standardized orders, receipts, and payments. Examines requisitions and invoices for correct unit price, discounts, and coding concepts. Examines supporting documents for necessary signatures, funding source, etc. 5. Report Preparation. Prepares a variety of routine reports including statements of accounts for departmental administration. 6. Budget Preparation. Assists in preparation of the budget. 7. Coordination. Coordinates bookkeeping or record keeping activities with various departments. 8. Data Analysis. Analyzes and audits data and balances statements. 9. Record Maintenance. Maintains financial records and files by recording daily transactions, etc. Maintains departmental inventory records and equipment contracts. 10. Financial Assistance. Assists supervisor in making sound financial decisions by providing current and accurate financial records upon request and relating pertinent information. 11. Account Reconciliation. Reconciles multiple statements of account to departmental book balances. 12. Troubleshooting. Troubleshoots errors or discrepancies in accounts, etc. 13. Inquiry Response. Responds to complex financial inquiries that require research or interpretation of policies and procedures. 14. Policy Revision. Assists in the revision of policies and procedures as necessary. 15. Functional Lead/or Supervisor. May lead functional process and/or may supervise other less senior account clerks. 16. As Needed. Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position. REQUIREMENTS: Education: High School diploma or GED Experience: 36 months of general accounting, accounts receivable, or accounts payable experience Certifications/ Licenses: Equivalent/ Substitution: Preferred: KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS: 1.
