Aug. 10, 2012 Battling Blazes Waterleaf Inaugural Food & Wine Festival Sept. 22 The Waterleaf Food and Wine Festival Presented by the Daily Herald is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Waterleaf parking area. The inaugural event will feature more than 300 varieties of wine showcased by 10 different wine vendors. Other highlights will include representatives from local breweries, live jazz music by the Shawn Maxwell Trio, food stations, premium artisanal cheeses, and special gifts for guests. Recently, Waterleaf was one of two first-year restaurants in DuPage County to receive a 2012 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator magazine. Cultural differences directly impact a business' bottom line, making a keen understanding of how culture and customs impact commerce vitally important in today's marketplace, Willis said. Continuing Ed Reaches Out to Area Students Continuing Education/Extended Learning will offer four new enriched socialization classes this fall for adults with mild to moderate developmental disabilities as part of its new Reach Out program.
