* The SUNSHINES participated in their first round of related arts throughout this week. They sang with
Mrs. Casto (the music teacher), created with Mr.
Blair (the art teacher), moved with Ms. Hathaway
(the Phys. Ed teacher), and read books with Mrs.
Riley (the library teacher).
Social Development
*AFTER SHARING OUR “SUN-
SATIONAL” SUMMER SPOT
PICTURES, THE SUNSHINES WROTE
ABOUT WHERE THEY WENT. THEY
ALSO CREATED A “TEE-RRIFIC” T-
SHIRT TO REPRESENT THEIR
LOCATION. THESE SPECIAL PROJECTS
ARE HANGING OUTSIDE OF THE
SUNSHINE ROOM ON DISPLAY!
*WE BEGAN THE “QUESTION OF THE
DAY.” EACH DAY, THIS WRITING
ACTIVITY FOCUSES ON WRITING
CONVENTIONS, WORD STUDY,
HANDWRITING, AND ADDING MORE
INFORMATION TO TOPICS.
* Social development is a big part of successful learning in first grade.
Throughout the year we will focus on positive ways to behave in school, how to build lifelong character traits, and educational routines to enhance our learning.
