Throughout this week, they continued to work on their narrative writings, learned about 2D and 3D shapes, and practiced reading stamina. WORD STUDY LEAF CREATIONS FIRE SAFETY Social Studies/Science/Health READING * Concord Fire Department came to share fire safety tips. * DURING GUIDED READING GROUPS, WE CONTINUE TO WORK INDIVIDUALLY ON TARGETED READING SKILLS. WE ASSESSED DIFFERENT SKILLS THAT WILL BE SHARED AT CONFERENCES. * We continued to read books, make observations, and participate in class discussions about the life cycle of pumpkins. TECHNOLOGY * WE CONTINUE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE GLOBAL READ ALOUD. WE HAVE COLLABORATED WITH CLASSROOMS AROUND THE COUNTRY TO SHARE OUR THOUGHTS, OPINIONS, AND RESPONSES TO THE DESIGNATED BOOK. * We started a class collaboration to make a book on Pixie. We used the mentor text of YES DAY! as a guide to model. LETTERS OF THE WEEK: AP/ASH Read to Self Building Reading Stamina * SUNSHINE WORDS OF THE WEEK: DO, PLAY ! * After using narrative transition words, the SUNSHINES described the life cycle of a pumpkin and made a pumpkin to match it. * The SUNSHINES continue to talk about how to respect their peers by listening when they are talking. Mrs. Cellar came into our room and conducted another lesson on being mindful. Ask your SUNSHINE about mindful minutes. * AFTER READING YES DAY! THE SUNSHINES COLLABORATED TO MAKE A CLASS BOOK ON PIXIE. THEY WROTE A SENTENCE TO MATCH THE PATTERN OF THE TEXT, ADDED A BACKGROUND, AND CREATED A PICTURE TO MATCH THEIR WORDS.
