Centennial Honors College Western Illinois University Undergraduate Research Day 2012 Poster Presentation Icy Snoddy Don’t Be a Fool and Study Study Study Study! Faculty Mentor: Mary Jensen Special Education Our teacher wanted our class to create a behavior plan to see how it would feel to try to change a behavior with students who have behavioral problems in a classroom. Before I started my project I noticed that in past classes that I would procrastinate for classes when it came to studying for test or doing homework assignment the night before it was due. In project I chose a negative behavior procrastination to be changed into a target behavior, which was to go to the library and study. I planned to go to the library at least five times a week for 2 ½ hours with 95% accuracy. My job was to record my daily progress within a 10-week time frame. This project was suggested from my professor to see how hard it would be to change a negative behavior to a positive behavior with certain reinforcements to increase the desired behavior. I collected my data with daily marking on the calendar that had a star for yes and a sad face for no, and at the end of the week I counted to see if I completed my desired goal.
