SMOV Status & Planning Meeting Notes 6/08/09 Notes provided by Burley (richard.j.burley@nasa.gov), Biagetti (biagetti@stsci.edu, and others as indicated. - Summary Spacecraft subsystems continue to operate nominally. Aft-shroud temperature continue to be monitored closely. Parts 3 and 4 of the COS FUV high-voltage ramp-up continues according to plan. All internals are looking good. The third FGS AMA adjustment (S-curve optimization) has been accomplished and analysis is underway. The ACS Tiger Team has convened in order to determine what response might be needed to the observed anomalous output drain voltage (Vod) in the WFC. STIS MAMA FUV recovery is complete and nominal. - Observatory Status o o - PCS/SAC: JWirzburger HSTAR 11870 – Kalman Filter V2 Coarse Sun Sensor Bias State OOL • Ground limit only • Sun Angle ~140 degrees near orbit noon • Places sun on edge of CSS-4 Monitor Field of View • Kalman Filter continues to operate nominally • Under investigation For a chart of gyro bias drift, see the attached SMOV_PCS_June_8 EPS Nominal o TCS: JAbel HSTAR 11871; FHST equipment shelf temperatures 18T and 20T, OOL. The subsequent ITS test for move verification is scheduled to take place 159/02:14-02:25 with only partial coverage by R/T telemetry. The R/T TLM should include the ITS FL and part of the LOS scan. I’ll be sending a follow-up report after this has been executed and analyzed. • S-Curves of Target ‘A’ in any of the 3 positions (1, 5 & 8) we’ve been using for AMA move definition aren’t scheduled until Position 1 at159/16:10 (06/08 ~ 12:10 EDT). • This won’t have R/T TLM coverage. • Goodrich personnel will be evaluating the 15 POL data (159/14:51 – 160/21:20), and reporting to the SMOV morning meeting no earlier than Wednesday, 06/10. • “I extend my thanks to the FOT staff as well as the Goodrich personnel that supported this evening’s efforts.” DCrain Analysis of the ITS test, executed 159/02:23-02:27, has been completed. The change in the ITS FL position was 1.386 a-s (X) and 2.285 a-s (Y). All hardware nominal, 1 HSTAR submitted #11869, the FGS 3 problem Guide Star again, could not maintain the star in Coarse Track. Resulted in Fine Lock Back-Up on FGS 1. 4 succeeding Acquisitions using this same star were all successful (eventually) in Fine Lock. There were 15 successful Acquisitions, including the FL BU. 1 Acquisition awaits ETR telemetry. There was an ITS observation following the AMA move #3. Predicted ITS FL position change was 1.2 asec in X and 1.5 asec in Y.Actual ITS FL position change was 1.386 asec in X, 2.285 asec in Y. For the Mini-Alignment (11458), all Astrometry in Real-time was good, waiting for the ETR telemetry. • First FGS2R2 fine lock! HSTAR 11867 plan to close to a double (weak correlation), failed Walkdown, then could not maintain Coarse Track on the second try. Up-coming 24 hours: • 4 GSACQs, 4 Reacqs and the 15 POL Proposal. • First FGS 1 Servo Maintenance will occur at 159:15:44:32, before the Reacq. o ACS Engineering • Status o Operate, WFC/SBC LV On o Optimization Campaign Iteration 3 removed from SA159 SMS to Vod anomaly (See previous two meeting notes) o Tiger Team convening today on the WF CEB-R output drain voltage (Vod) o WFC CEB-R to be left in current state with infinite flush enabled, pending completion of further analysis of the output drain voltage behavior and Tiger Team recommendations • Forward Plan o Post-BEA UV check (SBC) scheduled 162/20:55 UTC o STIS o - Science. CProffitt • Completed final visit of MAMA FUV Recovery 11350 last night o All currents and voltages within the expected range • Fold test looks fine with no significant shift towards the higher fold numbers • Flat field brightness consistent with previous trends • Dark rate of 6.6 c/s consistent with expectations • MAMA FUV Recovery complete and nominal. • STIS focus is adequate at the aperture plane. • For more details on fold test, flat fields, focus and throughput results, see the attached STIS_SMOV_SCI_8JUN2009 NICMOS/NCS Status • ESM in Operate • TPS ~9.6e-7 torr • PCE enabled for telemetry monitoring • NCS CPL in Standby at -34 degC Forward Plan • Draft OR 652-0 submitted to eventually transition NCS CPL from Standby to Startup (no formal plan to pursue this yet) P&S Status o Calendar/SMS builds SMS159 • SMS SA159T03 containing the reworked ACS SMOV schedule for next week was successfully delivered to CCS/SSSP on Saturday. o Thanks very much to Jack, Merle and George, for giving up their Saturday to get this done. o - PR 62772 (quick fix for the COS Tag Flash support schedule generation) is successful. We have successfully generated and verified the complete OPUS support schedule for SMS 091597C2 (SA159T03) for next week. Thanks very much to Mike Boyer, Fang Peng and Leah Evans for working to make this happen on time! SMS166 • PASS finals are being worked today SMS173 • Will start working tomorrow or Wed. Operations o FOT HSTAR 11865 MSIDs; are not unique, and never have been. Tag-IDs; are unique, always have been (carryover of old SATS/IED system). • MNEUMONIC STRING ID (says unique in ICD-26) It has broken CLong’s trending tool. STScI believed/believes these were permanent. • Changes were required for ACS-R. o PRD release letter does not include MSIDs – so it could be easy to miss. o Communication was not provided to/from STScI • Actions; o BBurkhardt will provide list of changes between PreACS-R database and current database. o RDeyton will provide Tag-ID/MSID mapping. o CLong will provide ACS-R SMOV schedule risk assessment. HSTAR; 11873, CCS Limit discrepancy. Tjacintho says investigation underway. o PACOR: BPatel From June 7 (8am) to June 8 (8am), Pacor-A received one event with fasttrack observations. • The data was processed and delivered to OPUS without any problems. o OPUS We processed the new schedule for week 159 with no apparent problems, and we now have our database populated with the required observation records. Continuing to fast-track science data, with more data for COS proposal 11356 coming tonight. Making changes to some OPUS calibration s/w. • This part of OPUS is not covered in the Freeze Plan. o Archive Nominal
