To all of our parishioners who donated Easter plants and to our Arts and Environment Committee
that designed and created the beautiful floral arrangements.
To all the singers and instrumentalists who filled the church with the sounds of
beautiful music.
To the members of the Liturgy Committee coordinators and Liturgical Ministers
who served so faithfully throughout the Triduum.
To the members of the Hospitality Commission who provided the wonderful reception
following Easter Vigil.
To all who shared their time and talents to make this Easter such a wonderful
expression of divine and human love.
THE CATHOLIC APPEAL – Our appreciation goes out to all parishioners who have made a gift to
the 2008 Catholic Appeal. The Appeal is to the Archdiocese what the weekly Offertory is to our
parish. If you have not yet made your gift, please consider making a pledge this weekend. For more
information, please visit wwwBostonCatholicAppeal.com or call 617-779-3700.
EASTER PARISH RETREAT AT
EASTERN POINT, GLOUCESTER –
This annual retreat is an opportunity to
enter more deeply into the mystery of
God’s love for us. With directors from
the Spiritual Development Commission, you will
have an opportunity for spiritual conversation, silent
prayer and gatherings of prayer and worship with
members of the parish community. The retreat will
be held Friday, May 2nd to Sunday, May 4th . The cost
for the weekend is $200 (all inclusive), with a deposit
of $100 at registration. If anyone is in need of
financial assistance in order to attend, please let us
know. Please register through the parish office 617552-6102, or ignatius@bc.edu.
We strongly urge our parishioners and visitors not to
leave their belongings in the pew when they leave to
receive Communion. Please take them with you.
SUNDAY MORNING ADULT FAITH FORUM Share your thoughts on the scriptures of the day and
discuss some of the critical issues of being a faithful Catholic. Each Sunday, following the 10:00 am
Liturgies, there will be an opportunity to share in the contemporary Church. Why not join us for coffee
and doughnuts after Mass (refreshments).
HELP FOR ST. ANNE’S PRIMARY SCHOOL, KINGSTON JAMAICA - During our visit in January to our Sister
Parish in Kingston, Jamaica, several parishioners worked at the St. Anne’s Primary School, Grades 2-6. The
school is lacking in the most basic supplies and learning materials. We have asked the teachers and
administrators for a list of supplies that would be most beneficial to their efforts. We are organizing a
drive to fulfill the list comprised of games, arts and crafts supplies and sets of books with Audio CD’s.
We are asking parishioners to select an “egg” from the table at the back of the church with the name of
an item or money to purchase needed items. Please contact Jim Carroll with questions or further information at
mcsonejc@aol.com or 617-327-4519. We would appreciate your bringing the items by Sunday, April 6th. Thank
you!
CORPUSCHRISTI/ST.BERNARD BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUPS have been offering participants the
opportunity to express their grief after the loss of a loved one. The group provides a safe and nurturing
environment under the direction of a trained facilitator. The next session will begin on Saturday, April 5th and will
run through Saturday, May 10th from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at the Parish Center (45 Ash Street, Auburndale). If you
would be interested in attending, please contact Deacon Daniel Nelson at 617-244-9110.
SENIOR MUSIC RECITAL – SATURDAY,
APRIL 5 TH – 8:00 PM – UPPER CHURCH –
Soprano and parishioner, Genevieve Valianti Klim, is
presenting her Senior Recital. Accompanied by
pianist, Laure Ziegler, the recital will feature Samuel
Barber’s “Hermit Songs”, as well as works by
Vivaldi, Debussy and Wolf. Genevieve will be
receiving her BA in vocal performance from Boston
University’s College of Fine Arts this May, and
invites friends and music lovers to celebrate this
exciting event with her on April 5th. A reception will
follow in the Friary Room.
CALLING ALL INSTRUMENTALISTS If you are an
experienced instrumentalist of any age, and would
like to join an ensemble, we have one for you! The St.
Ignatius Symphonia plays the first Sunday of each
month, October through June, (and a few other
liturgies throughout the season) at the Noon Mass,
with rehearsal at 11:00 am the day of the Mass at
which they play. Music is sent to members in

OUTREACH MINISTRIES
FIVE WEEKS AND COUNTING! Registration materials for the May 4th
40th Project Bread Walk for Hunger are on the Outreach Table in the
gathering space and on bulletin boards at church entrances. Registration
papers for volunteers are on the table. Online registration (for walkers
and volunteers) can be done at www.projectbread.org. Forms for monetary
sponsoring will be on the table next weekend; that can also be done online.
WE KNOW YOU’RE OUT THERE! Each year, many parishioners participate in the Walk
for Hunger with friends, family and co-workers. Since they do so, the rest of the parish
family has no idea just how many parishioners take part in this huge effort, aside from
those who comprise TEAM IGNATIUS. We’d like to know who you are!
Please, if you
would, sign your name to the poster at the Walk display in the gathering space. Just
imagine how many miles and/or hours of volunteer service are completed by St. Ignatius
members!
BHCHP SOCK DRIVE: Thank you for your generosity in this drive. We estimate sending
over 250 pair of socks and many, many pairs of flip-flops to BHCHP. To learn more about
BHCHP, go to www.bhchp.org.
SHATTUCK SPRINGTIME MEAL: Sign-ups begin this weekend for our
Sunday, April 13th meal at Shattuck Shelter.
Food donations and crew
workers are needed. Sign-up sheets and reminder cards are on the Outreach
table in the upper church gathering space. Reminder: sign-ups are for two
weekends only, so don’t delay in getting in on the event!
