To all of our parishioners who donated Easter plants and to our Arts and Environment Committee
that designed and created the beautiful floral arrangements.
To all the singers and instrumentalists who filled the church with the sounds of
beautiful music.
To the members of the Liturgy Committee coordinators and Liturgical Ministers
who served so faithfully throughout the Triduum.
To the members of the Hospitality Commission who provided the wonderful reception
following Easter Vigil.
To all who shared their time and talents to make this Easter such a wonderful
expression of divine and human love.
THE CATHOLIC APPEAL – Our appreciation goes out to all parishioners who have made a gift to
the 2008 Catholic Appeal. The Appeal is to the Archdiocese what the weekly Offertory is to our
parish. If you have not yet made your gift, please consider making a pledge this weekend. For more
information, please visit wwwBostonCatholicAppeal.com or call 617-779-3700.
EASTER PARISH RETREAT AT
EASTERN POINT, GLOUCESTER –
This annual retreat is an opportunity to
enter more deeply into the mystery of
God’s love for us. With directors from
the Spiritual Development Commission, you will
have an opportunity for spiritual conversation, silent
prayer and gatherings of prayer and worship with
members of the parish community. The retreat will
be held Friday, May 2nd to Sunday, May 4th . The cost
for the weekend is $200 (all inclusive), with a deposit
of $100 at registration. If anyone is in need of
financial assistance in order to attend, please let us
know. Please register through the parish office 617552-6102, or ignatius@bc.edu.
We strongly urge our parishioners and visitors not to
leave their belongings in the pew when they leave to
receive Communion. Please take them with you.
Dear Parishioners,
This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad! On this Easter day we have reason to
rejoice. We remember in a special way the great mystery of Christ’s triumph over death. The risen one
comes to each of us saying, “Peace! I am with you now and forever”. Today we celebrate in a special
way what we remember each Sunday as we gather for Eucharist. The Lord is in our midst as a saving,
life-giving presence. All of our Sundays during the year are reflected in the light of this Easter Sunday.
But Easter is not just a day. It is not simply an “event”. It is a season of fifty days. This Easter
“seasoning” gives us the opportunity to savor the rich experience of the paschal feast, tasting and seeing
the goodness of God, revealed in Christ’s dying and rising. This Easter season is filled with stories and
symbols that speak of new light and new life. Can we open our ears and our eyes to let the Risen One
come again into our lives, offering us the promise of peace, joy and love? This year we have the whole
month of April to celebrate! This is the benefit of having Easter begin at the end of March!
May this Easter Season be filled with encounters with the Risen Lord who will open our eyes to the
wonders that our gracious God has done for us!

HELP FOR ST. ANNE’S PRIMARY
SCHOOL, KINGSTON JAMAICA During our visit in January to our Sister
Parish in Kingston, Jamaica, several
parishioners worked at the St. Anne’s Primary
School, Grades 2-6. The school is lacking in the most
basic supplies and learning materials. We have
asked the teachers and administrators for a list of
supplies that would be most beneficial to their
efforts. We are organizing a drive to fulfill the list
comprised of games, arts and crafts supplies and sets
of books with Audio CD’s.
We are asking
parishioners to select an “egg” from the table at the
back of the church with the name of an item or
money to purchase needed items. Please contact Jim
Carroll with questions or further information at
mcsonejc@aol.com or 617-327-4519
