Young Neighbors in Action Service Trip The bulletin cover this week highlights some of the work done by some of our youth over the course of a week this past July as part of the Young Neighbors in Action program. Seven teenagers and two adults made the trip out to Yakima, Washington, where they spent the week living in community with sixty other participants from around the country. Days were spent running a camp for some of the inner city youth of Yakima, and the evenings were spent in reflection about the service experience and our call to social justice. Through the week, our students were witness to the difference that care and concern can make when shown to those who are suffering from poverty, abuse, or neglect. Our participants have returned with a heightened sense of responsibility toward others and a desire for leadership in the parish. Many thanks to all those who gave of their time, donated money, or who worked towards making the trip possible and memorable. More photographs of our experiences in Yakima can be found in the Gathering Space in the upper church.
