Rates are Back!”
No need to “hunt” for the best new or used automobile
loan rates. They’re right here at your credit union!
During our “Egg-Stra Special Rates Days”, your credit
union is financing new and used autos to give you lower
payments and less cost. We’ll even pay off your elsewhere-financed new or used auto with a bank, finance
company, or dealership. From now until the end of
April 2013, depending upon your credit qualifications,
your rates might be:
As low as 1.19% APR for 36 months
As low as 1.39% APR for 48 months
As low as 1.69% APR for 60 months
As low as 2.29% APR for 72 months
Mechanical Breakdown
Protection
Your vehicle is a major investment. Protect it by purchasing mechanical
breakdown protection through your
credit union. Our low-cost plans offer
nationwide protection, wear and tear
coverage, towing, rental, tire protection,
and roadside assistance. You select the
coverage and the time/mileage term that
is best suited for your driving habits and
intended length of ownership. Vehicle
financing at the credit union is not
required. Contact a credit union loan
officer for details.

“Savings Sleuth--Solve the Mystery.”
Let your Credit unions help you’re youth solve the mystery of
how to save money for meaningful purchases.
During the week of April 22-26 we will be celebrating our
YOUTH! The goal of Youth Week is to start children on the
path to lifelong credit union membership by educating them
about their money.
Let’s teach our youth to save!!
The latest “IT” electronic toy hits the market. What happens at your house?
Option A: Your kids beg and plead and cry until you pull out the plastic to
buy it for them; or
Option B: You’ve helped them anticipate they would want it and helped
them save for it so they can pay for all or part of it on their own.
While Option A may be the case at the majority of households, Option B
has longer lasting effects. Teaching your kids how to save for the future is
a skill that will benefit them throughout their lives. Here are some tips to
help you get started:
1. If you provide an allowance, have your kids divide it each week into
three boxes or jars: money to spend, to save and to share. Help younger
kids decorate the containers. Encourage them to divide up any money
they receive as a gift or earn for doing extra chores in the same manner.
When the saving jar is nearly full, have your child bring the money to the
credit union to deposit into their savings account.
2. Show your kids how to set savings goals and stick to them. Help them
with the math, if necessary, and have them glue pictures of the things
they want to a special savings jar.
3. Help kids learn about saving money by comparison shopping and
cutting their expenses. For example, talk about whether all the money
they are spending on snacks from vending machines might be better
saved and spent on something like a new hand-held game or a bike.
4. Consider a match program -. Agree to match some percentage of the
amount children save in their share savings account at the credit union.
For example, every time they save $5, you could match it dollar-for-dollar
or at 50, 25, or 10 percent.

Rebuilding Your Credit History
1. Always pay your bills on time. Delinquent payments and
collections have a negative impact on your credit score.
2. Keep balances low on your credit cards and other revolving
credit. High balances lower your score.
3. Only apply for, and open, new credit accounts as needed.
Opening a new account just to have a better credit mix won’t
increase your score.
4. Pay off your debt instead of moving it around. Owing the same
amount, but having fewer open accounts, may lower your score.
Remember, you can’t rebuild your credit score; you rebuild your
credit history. Time is your ally in improving your credit. There is no
“quick fix” for a bad credit score, so be aware of suspicious deals
that offer you a fast and easy solution.
Have you moved, changed your mailing address, e-mail address, or your
telephone number in the past year? Do you have a name change? If so,
please let us know. It is important that the credit union has your current
information on file. We want to make sure all communication and important
notices from the credit union reach you on time. If you have a name
change, you will need to come by the credit union to update your signature
card. And, for your security, change of address requests must be made in
writing and on the proper forms. Please contact your credit union for more
information. And don’t forget, if you move out of state, you can continue
being a member of the credit union: Once a member, always a member.
The Last Word
There is no greater joy or greater reward than to make a
fundamental difference in someone’s life.
