CLOSING DATE: May 22, 2014 Job Description Major duties include: cover switchboard during specified hours each day; Assist in interviewing Success Express and Nonpublic Assistance clients; Case research and search for birth certificates; Receive and work RWRs (public assistance referrals for services); Ability to navigate the automated computer system and research cases to determine appropriate processing; Provide clientele information to assist with genetic testing; Serve as back-up to either Processing Assistant III in their absence; Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Significant knowledge of office work or work unit procedures, methods, and practices. Significant knowledge of and ability to use correct grammar, vocabulary, spelling and office terminology to compose and/or proofread correspondence, reports and other materials. Physical Requirements Must be able to physically perform the basic life support functions of reaching, stooping, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to perform sedentary work which includes exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Must have the visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures, perform accounting functions, operate typewriter or computer terminal, do extensive reading and determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
