If grief has changed your experience and expectations for the holidays, if the peace and joy of the season seem far removed, you are not alone. Please join us for prayer and companionship in the Friary Room on Sunday afternoon, November 18th, from 3:00-5:30 p.m. Members of the Parish Staff and community will facilitate a discussion on remembering our beloved deceased and offer personal experiences in coping with feelings of loss. Light refreshments will be served and the program will conclude with a prayer service. You are invited to bring a photo or memento of your loved one. For more information or to register for this program, please call the Parish Office at 617-5526102. BOOK DISCUSSION On November 18th, there will be a discussion of Guadalupe: Mother of the New Creation by Virgil Elizondo. For centuries, Guadalupe has served as one of the sustaining symbols of Mexican, Latin American, and U.S. Hispanic identity and spirituality. But more than that, in this lyrical and inspiring work Elizondo shows that Our Lady of Guadalupe has an even wider significance and relevance to the church universal at the dawn of a new millennium. Please join us for a discussion of this book on November 18 at 11:15 in the living room of the Parish Center. DO YOU WANT MORE INSIGHT INTO THE READINGS YOU HEAR AT MASS? Join us for PASTA & PRAYER, a prayerful conversation with friends over dinner to discuss the Sunday scriptures. Feed your body, mind and soul! The next session, One Family, discussing the Christmas Season readings, will take place on Thursday, November 15, 2012 in the Dining Room at the Parish Office from 6:30 to 8:30pm. Prior registration required: Call Catherine at 617-782-5812 or Email to cfdesq@hotmail.com, to reserve a place at the table. On this Veteran’s Day Weekend, let us continue to pray for those who have served and are presently serving our country in the armed forces 2. JAMAICA RETURN! Once again, the parish is planning an immersion trip to Kingston, Jamaica to participate in the life of our sister parish, St. Anne's and St. Anne’s primary school. The proposed dates for the trip this year are January 19 -27th. If you are interested in finding out more about the trip, please contact Fr. Bob at frvereec@bc.edu. 4.
