Project Description (only):
This project replaced the library media center (LMC) and faculty administration building (FAB).
The LMC contains a range of spaces required to provide full service instructional support
services to the college’s students, including study rooms, a state-of-the-art computer instructional
room and meeting spaces. The FAB replaced administrative and faculty offices originally housed
in a structure that was part of the library building.

Scope Changes (if any):
Approximately 1,500 square feet was value engineered from the original design. The original
two- story Library Building is now a single story. The mechanical system was re-designed from
electric resistance heat to a geothermal well field.

Potential for Project Cost Overruns/Claims
Final project close-out has not been completed due to an ongoing issue with the Heat Harvester.
The architect and contractor are addressing details and a solution to this issue.
Discussion of Project Quality
The LMC and FAB are complete. The Grand Opening was held in August. The buildings have
been very well received by faculty, staff, students and the public.
