2015-16 APPLICATION GUIDELINES PERKINS SPECIAL PROJECTS GRANT DESCRIPTION The Perkins Special Project funds are used to support activities approved by the Workforce Education Council (WEC) executive committee. Examples of Perkins Special Projects funded activities are: Presenters for WEC meetings; Leadership Training for the Workforce Deans; New Instructor Boot Camp; Statewide Student Leadership group coordination; COE Business Forums; WEC committee funds. APPLICATION PROCESS All projects must be approved by the WEC Executive Committee. The committee meets in late July/ early August of each year to develop priorities and decide on how the Perkins Special Project funds are used. It is recommended that applications be sent in no later than July 15, 2015 for consideration. The Perkins Special Project application must be submitted in the Online Grant Management System (OGMS): http://apps.sbctc.edu/onlinegrants. We suggest writing applications in WORD. Then cut and paste the plan into OGMS to protect from losing your work, if the OGMS application times out. The assurances from the college’s Perkins Plan cover these funds. FUNDING AND REPORTING TIMELINES Special Project funds are available July 1, 2015 and must be expended by June 30, 2016. Grant funds will not pay for costs incurred prior to the grant approval date or before July 1, 2015. Funds depend on federal budgets and Workforce Training and Education Coordinating board (WTECB) policy. The SBCTC accepts 2015-16 applications from April 16, 2015 – July 15, 2015. Final reports are due July 31, 2016. Final report forms are on the SBCTC web at http://www.sbctc.ctc.edu/college/_e-wkforceperkinsleadershipgrants.aspx. Final reports must be uploaded as an attachment to the grant in OGMS.
