PERKINS SPECIAL PROJECTS
GRANT DESCRIPTION
The Perkins Special Project funds are used to support activities approved by the Workforce Education
Council (WEC) executive committee. Examples of Perkins Special Projects funded activities are: Presenters
for WEC meetings; Leadership Training for the Workforce Deans; New Instructor Boot Camp; Statewide
Student Leadership group coordination; COE Business Forums; WEC committee funds.
APPLICATION PROCESS
All projects must be approved by the WEC Executive Committee. The committee meets in late July/ early August
of each year to develop priorities and decide on how the Perkins Special Project funds are used. It is
recommended that applications be sent in no later than July 15, 2016 for consideration. The Perkins Special
Project application must be submitted in the Online Grant Management System (OGMS):
http://apps.sbctc.edu/onlinegrants.
We suggest writing applications in WORD. Then cut and paste the plan into OGMS to protect from
losing your work, if the OGMS application times out.
The assurances from the college’s Perkins Plan cover these funds.
