A JOINT MEETING OF THE IRISH MATHEMATICAL SOCIETY
AND THE LONDON MATHEMATICAL SOCIETY
LONDON, 22-23 MAY, 1998
There will be six lectures, three on Friday afternoon, 22 May, and
three on Saturday morning, 23 May. A conference dinner is being
planned for Friday evening. The following have agreed to speak.

Bodil Branner (Technical University of Denmark) Surgery in

Dynamics of holomorphic correspondences
Jean-Christophe Yoccoz (Orsay, Paris) to be announced

STOKES SUMMER SCHOOL
SKREEN, COUNTY SLIGO, IRELAND
6-10 AUGUST, 1998
Goal: A celebration at his birthplace of the many areas of physics
and mathematics to which Sir George Gabriel Stokes made major
contributions. Among the speakers are some of the world's leading
authorities.
Organizers: Sir Michael Berry (Bristol University), Alastair Wood
(Dublin City University).
The number of participants is limited to 50.

NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF IRELAND, GALWAY
21-23 MAY, 1998
The Mathematics Department of the National University of Ireland, Galway will hold its annual Groups in Galway conference
on 21-23 May 1998. This will be the 21st such conference.
