Human Services Senior Practitioner 2554BR This position will serve on a blended team consisting of assessment, in-home and foster care. This position is responsible for permanency planning for children in the legal custody of Wake County. This position will work with birth families, children and foster families. This position will prepare case plans and court summaries. *This is a continuous recruitment *NOTE - A criminal background check will be conducted. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies - Believes in the strengths of families and focuses on reunification whenever safely possible - Believes in the benefits of shared parenting and can teach this to birth and foster parents - Comfortable having critical conversations with parents when needed - Detailed understanding of Child Welfare practice - Detail oriented and able to produce accurate documentation - Advanced critical thinking skills - Ability to multi-task and prioritize - Must possess excellent verbal and written communication Minimum Requirements Master's degree in Social Work and one year of experience in social work or counseling; or equivalent. Preferred Experience, Skills and Training North Carolina public child welfare experience; current North Carolina Pre-Service; North Carolina foster care experience. Work Schedule Based schedule is 8:30 - 5:15 with flexibility to meet the needs of the family. This job includes evening hours.
