Human Services Supervisor II Position Number – 2333BR Supervise a blended team of CPS Assessment and In-home staff and Foster Care staff providing in home child welfare services to families in which child abuse or neglect has been reported or established and foster care services for children who have been removed from their homes. Review new referrals for service, assign case referrals to staff, participate in case decision conferences, assist in developing case plans in Child and Family meetings, review progress on case plans, review safety assessments, develop petitions if safety is compromised and children need to be removed. Assist staff in preparation for judicial hearings: supervise the development of permanency planning cases to include re-unification services, TPR, and adoptions services. Joint review with worker to determine that safety has been reduced and the case is appropriate for closure. *NOTE - A criminal background check will be conducted Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies Ability to supervise staff who serve families who are involved with Child Protective Services, requires conflict resolution skills, and the ability to help staff engage non-voluntary clients. Minimum Requirements – Master’s degree in Social Work and three years of experience in counseling or social work; or equivalent. Preferred Requirements – NC public child welfare experience in CPS Assessments, In Home and Foster Care or supervision in CPS Assessments, In Home or Foster Care. Current Child Welfare Pre-Service Training. Schedule – 8:15am to 5:30pm with flexible hours as needed.
