Des Moines Business Record Daily 06-06-07 Rolls-Royce Corp. has acquired exclusive rights to use a coating invented by Iowa State University researchers that helps jet engine turbines stand up to metal temperatures reaching 2,100 degrees Fahrenheit. The coating compositions came from research backed by the Office of Naval Research starting seven years ago, and researchers plan to continue to look for a better and cheaper way to produce the coating.
