Associated Press 02/11/06 ISU police make arrest in hit-and-run death AMES, Iowa A northeast Iowa woman has been arrested in a hit and run collision that killed an Iowa State University student. Shanda Munn, of Lawler, faces charges of homicide by vehicle and failing to stop at an accident resulting in death. Police say the 20-year-old Munn had been drinking at a party and was under the influence of alcohol when she struck and killed 20-year-old Kelly Laughery on December 3rd. Police say Laughery was hit from behind while walking along a street in Ames. Munn was registered for the fall semester, but an Iowa State official is unsure if she is currently attending classes.
