Des Moines Register 03/11/06 Dateline Iowa REGISTER STAFF AND NEWS SERVICES Arraignment set in ISU student's death An arraignment has been scheduled for March 20 for Shanda Munn, the Iowa State University student who is accused in the December death of fellow student Kelly Laughery. Munn is charged with homicide by vehicle for unintentionally causing Laughery's death by driving a car while under the influence of alcohol. She is also charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. The arraignment is scheduled to be held at the Story County Courthouse in Nevada. Laughery, 20, was found lying on Mortensen Road at 4:27 a.m. Dec. 3. She was taken to Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, where she was pronounced dead. Police determined she was struck from behind while walking east along the street.
