Documents Released In Fatal Ames Hit-And-Run
DES MOINES, Iowa -- Documents once sealed from a search warrant shed
some more light on a fatal hit-and-run in Ames.
Shanda Munn, 20, was charged with vehicular homicide and leaving the scene
of a fatal accident in December that killed Iowa State University student Kelly
Laughery.
Court documents show Munn's attorney in Charles City called police and led
them to the home of Munn's father in Nevada, where they found the car from the
accident.
According to witness statements, Munn thought she hit a mailbox or a deer and
couldn't remember driving home from a party the night of the accid
