Lesson Plan: French 1 Topic: Au Café and Regional Cuisine Day: 4 Materials needed: 1. Computers with internet access 2. Headphones for each student 3. Vocabulary sheet Objectives (Students will): 1. Learn the meaning of restaurant vocabulary such as “Qu’est-ce que vous prenez?” and “Qu’est-ce que vous voulez?” 2. Learn the correct use of “Je voudrais….” and “Je prends…..” in a restaurant setting 3. Learn other vocabulary (l’addition, bon appétit, je n’ai plus faim, etc) used in a restaurant 4. Review the seven “plats traditionnels” presented in this unit 5. Practice listening comprehension skills Resources: 1. Video with captions and transcript 2. Questions over the video Activities: 1. Watch a video with French captions of two people ordering food in a restaurant. Students will have a transcript of the video on demand with more difficult items glossed with the English translation: 15 minutes 2. Answer questions about the video: 10 minutes 3. Work time for their presentations from Day 3: 20 minutes
