Streetscape
dynamic modular fences
Double-sided streetlamps provide light and thus the sense of safety
along both the vehicular edge as well as the pedestrian. Solarpowered, they reduce energy and are environmentally beneficial.
A modular system of hexagonal elements, rotated
continuously to create a perforated pattern in the
form of a fence. A wind and snow barrier, the wall
also becomes a planter in warmer seasons with
plants that can be inserted into the openings.

elevations showing modular panels
Repeated elements placed throughout the neighborhood on vacant or
possibly occupiable lots create an immediate density. Simple wood
framed boxes can be used for a multitude of purposes, including
greenhouse, garden storage, power or water source, location for a
hydroponic system, etc.
Community Gardens, Parking Carpets
These features can activate bare and underutilized spaces through
densification, program activities, as well as environmental benefits such
as reducing summer heat and winter cold.

Amenities
Provide beneficial programs for the neighborhood such as a
Community Food Market, Daycare Facility, and Wellness Center
to create activities as well as resources for the residents.
Community Food Market
An object in the landscape, the market evokes a feeling of unity
with an multi-tonal interwoven facade representing a basket.
Welcoming and interesting, the market also provides a place for
those residents that grow their own food to interact with others in
the community who may want to purchase the locally-grown
fruits and vegetables. Simple and repeatable, the market can be
reproduced in multiple sizes to fit onto varying lot sizes, or added
incrementally to larger lots.
