Perceptions
1. The $250 million dollar cut was only 2.5% of our budget.
2. UW institutions – we are hoarding money. We have a big slush fund.
3. Tuition should be frozen, we already charge too much; College education
should be affordable – even free.
4. The return on investment (RIO) for a college degree is poor.
5. Students owe thousands of dollars for a college degree; they can’t find a
job. Student loan debt is destroying the economy.

Budget Q&A
“As we work through the budget and its effects on our
employees, I find that moral has decreased but not for
the reasons most would expect. Many people are
worried about the budget but really all they want to
know is that management is working on a resolution
and care about them and their needs.”
All Division Meeting 2015
Budget Q&A
•
What further changes do you anticipate will be made
to Custodial Services in response to these budget
restrictions?
•
Is the University still considering outsourcing
Custodial Services?

Budget Q&A
“Can you give your understanding of the proposed
changes to the Wisconsin Retirement System that was
recently reported in the news? Changing the ages of
early release, number of years calculated in retirement
