24 - Administrative Release of Employees
24.1 - Guidelines
5. Authority is delegated to the District Rangers, Monument Manager, Nursery
Superintendent, and Zone Engineers to make decisions regarding office closure for hazardous
weather. They must, however, inform the Supervisor's Office of the closure.
The Administrative Officer (AO) is delegated the authority to make closure decisions
for the Supervisor's Office and grant administrative leave for hazardous weather. The AO shall
contact local and State police offices for road conditions by 6 a.m. If it is necessary to close the
office, the AO shall notify KGW (AM 62) Radio Station with closure information.
Procedures in charging leave for group dismissals are in the parent text, 25.31. Eight
(8) hours maximum of administrative leave per day shall be granted for employees working a
basic workweek, variable day, or variable week. Employees working compressed schedules
shall be granted administrative leave for hours as determined by their compressed schedule.
Intermittent and SCSEP employees shall be granted administrative leave for those hours
corresponding with the hours granted to regular full-time employees.
