Jianguo Huo
President of Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation and Senior Research
Fellow
Dr. Huo Jianguo, born in 1954, is the President of Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic
Cooperation (CAITEC) and a Senior Research Fellow.
Dr. Huo successively worked in China National Native Produce and Animal By-Products Import and
Export Corporation, the Research Institute of International Trade of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and
Economic Cooperation (the predecessor of MOFCOM), Economic and Commercial Counselor’s Office of
Chinese Embassy in UK, the Economic and Trade Commission of the State Council and the Ministry of
Commerce, serving as the president and the Deputy Director-General.
Dr. Huo has long been devoted to trade administration and foreign economy and trade policy research.
He is both a richly experienced practitioner in foreign trade administration and an expert in theoretical
and policy research.
Dr. Huo has published several books such as China Foreign Trade and National Competitive Advantage,
China’s Foreign Trade Development Strategy, China Import: Strategy and Administration and has written
a lot of papers and articles.
