While liquefied natural gas (LNG) provides more flexibility than pipeline natural gas (PNG), it bears large fixed costs (Visiongain, 2014). Figure 1 compares the cost per energy over distance of gas transported by pipeline (PNG) with the one by ship (LNG). Rotor spacer and stub shaft are not required, eliminating the risk of failure of these components. Siemens forged steel leads to lower the possibility that one of these small components creates a major problem. Our compressor end cover is secured with bolts whereas others compressor plate is secured by means of shear ring design. Siemens approach with bolts provides the benefit of easy access of service.
