First mobile substation for industrial use
made by Siemens Transformer Wuhan
Siemens Transformer (Wuhan) Co., Ltd. (STWH) is proud to
announce that the first 20-MVA/110-kV mobile substation
for non-utility use is close to delivery. The contract with the
customer, Changshu Municipal Government, was closed in
February and provides for the delivery of the mobile sub­
station to the Changshu Southeast Economic Development
Zone in June. The main purpose of a mobile substation in
an industrial environment is to help cover peak loads in
the Changshu Southeast Economic Development Zone,
which explains the very tight project schedule.
Technical, purchasing, O&O, and other related departments at STWH cooperated closely, and everybody con­
tributed intensively to the winning of the contract. STWH
General Manager Gerry Wang himself negotiated prices
with several spare parts suppliers. »We tried our best to
meet the customer’s budget request and at the same time
maintain the product quality Siemens is renowned for,«
he said after receiving the order.
A mobile substation from Siemens ready for delivery
As the next step, a mobile substation meeting all customer requirements had to be built within only five months –
a challenging schedule, but »we are never afraid of any
challenges,« said Xiaotai Zhong, Manager of STWH’s technology department, and success has proved him right.
