PRIDE Committee Report 9/12/12
The PRIDE Committee has not met yet for this school year. Our first scheduled meeting is on September
28th at 2:00. Items for the agenda are: ChickFilA; the new Discrimination Policy; coordinating efforts
with Vanessa Delgado (LGBT Program Director and Student Support) in the MOSAIC office.
The PRIDE Committee has sent a formal request to the Chancellor to open up dialogue regarding the
presence of ChickFil A on campus in light of their financial support of various hate organizations locally
and nationally. We respect their First Amendment rights to freedom of speech yet we cannot condone
their support of organized hate groups that target the LGBT individuals and their families.
