ThePrideCentershallfosterasafeenvironmentforLGBTQ+students,faculty,andstaff,educatethecampus
andcommunityonissuesandadvocateforstudentsuccessandinclusivity.(2012)
SafeSpaceMission:
TheSafeSpaceisopentoanyonelookingforaplacetorest,study,meet,orjustbe.
PositionResponsibilities:
1. MeetwithPrideCenterDirectorweekly.
2. Setup,planandattendweeklyPrideCenterStaffmeetings.
3. Maintainregularofficehours(20hoursaweek.)
4. AttendregularUniversityCentersstaffmeetings,graduatetrainingsandsub-unitmeetingswhen
applicable.
5. Supervisepeereducators,includingrecruitment,hiring,training,andevaluationofstaff.
a. Developandco-facilitateLGBTQ+PeerEducatorsstafftraining.
b. Establishbi-weeklyone-on-one’swithindividualstaffmembers.
c. ScheduleandfacilitateregularPrideCenterstaffmeetings.
d. CoordinatetheschedulingforallPrideCenterstaff.
e. Utilizestudentemployees’skills,talents,andinnovationstoimplementnewprogram
suggestions.
f. Approvepayrollofstudentemployees
6. Assistpeereducatorsindevelopmentofcampuswideprogramsanddevelopmentofmarketing
strategies.
7. Supervisethemaintenanceofinventoryoftheresourcematerials.
8. AssistinthecoordinationofNationalComingOutWeek,TransgenderRemembranceWeek,Special
Events,(AllyWeek,BisexualAwarenessDay,Etc..)DragShowandotherlarge-scaleprogrammingand
trainingevents.
9. Co-AdviseRainbowUnityorTransformorFiercestudentorganizationsoncampus.
10. Completeprogramevaluationsasnecessary.Maintainattendanceandcustomercounts.
11. Completemid-yearandend-of-yearannualreportsforthePrideCenter.
