RE: Report
I. Coming Out Day is October 11, 2011. Various UCCS clubs and committees will
be represented at the activities as well as external organizations such as the
PRIDE center, Inside/Out, Page, PFLAG and Impact. Shane Wyndmar is the
first speaker of a lecture series hosted by the Office of Student Activities and
he will speak about the status of LGBTQI inclusivity on campuses across the
country.
II. The GLBT Faculty Committee of the CU Faculty Council is discussing an annual
CU LGBT conference (similar to the CU Women’s Symposium) that will be
tentatively held in Spring/2012.
III. The Diversity Summit will be held in Boulder (November 8-10). Alma R.
Clayton Pedersen, author of the book, Making a Real Difference for Diversity:
Guide for Institutional Change will be the keynote speaker.
IV. There will be a Drag Show at Club Q on November 20th. This will be a
fundraising event for Spectrum.
V. Tri-Pride will be held in the spring with an art show, carnival and drag show
among other activities.
VI. The PRIDE Committee would like an updated report regarding the Task Force
Committee findings and potential actions.
