The task: Your parents are allowing you to remodel your bedroom or
living/entertainment room and have a set total budget of $10,000 for this project. You must
determine the size of the room you will redesign and create a scale model of the floor plan, and
each of the walls. Your redesign must include new flooring and painting your walls.
Flooring:
In feet, measure the floor’s length and width of the room you are designing. Round your
measurement to the nearest 1/4 foot. Remember, there are 12 inches in a foot. When
measuring in inches, use equivalent fractions to decide how to estimate the fraction of a foot.
If your room is not a perfect rectangle, remember to divide into sections to find area of
individual sections.
