Hillary Clinton; The first former First Lady to be elected to the U.S. Senate and to hold a federal cabinet-level position. She was elected in the US senate In November 7, 2000 with 56% of the votes. Nancy Pelosi; First woman to lead a major congressional party. Also First female speaker of the House of Representatives During the 2000’s some of the hottest trends were high tops, ugg boots, skinny jeans, and the ipod. Some fads that lasted only a couple of years were silly bands, the wii, push scooters, and live strong bracelets. Popular entertainment in the 2000’s were reality television shows such as survivor in the US and American Idol. The year 2002 was a momentous year in the filming industry; it was the first year that an African American won an Oscar for a lead role. Also in 2005 You tube was launched becoming a big hit.
