Barack Obama; 44th president of the united states was elected into
office November 4, 2008.

Sonia Sotomayor; Elected the first Hispanic in the US supreme
court justice in August 6, 2009. She is also the third female justice
in the US supreme court history.

Hillary Clinton; The first former First Lady to be elected to the
U.S. Senate and to hold a federal cabinet-level position. She was
elected in the US senate In November 7, 2000 with 56% of the
votes.

Nancy Pelosi; First woman to lead a major congressional party.
Also First female speaker of the House of Representatives


During the 2000’s some of the hottest trends were high
tops, ugg boots, skinny jeans, and the ipod.
Some fads that lasted only a couple of years were silly
bands, the wii, push scooters, and live strong bracelets.



Popular entertainment in the 2000’s were reality
television shows such as survivor in the US and
American Idol.
The year 2002 was a momentous year in the filming
industry; it was the first year that an African American
won an Oscar for a lead role.
Also in 2005 You tube was launched becoming a big
hit.

stood out the most were Peyton Kobe Bryant, Lance Armstrong, Michael Phelps,
Roger Federer, and Tiger Woods.

Cup champion (2007, 2009).

gold medals, two Olympic bronze medals, 45 total gold medals and seven total
silver medals. Defining Moment: 2008 Beijing Olympics, during which Phelps
became the most decorated Olympian gold medalist of all time.
4.) Lance Armstrong: 6x Tour de France Champion (2000-2005, 7x champ in all),

changes were boldly reflected in the works of



could think of was the company apple. During
the 2000’s apple introduced the ipod and
iphone making apple a big hit. Apple
revolutionized technology in this decade.


