Assignments are turned in at the front of the classroom in the bins. Note: Please make sure assignments are placed in the correct folder. Supplies Needed: Notebook paper with binder Composition notebook to be used as a writing journal Bound NOT spiral Blue or black pens Pencils Colored correcting pen Flash drive Kleenexes or hand sanitizer Grading Following DISD district policy, grades will be: 50% - major grades (tests, papers, projects, etc.) 50% - daily work (quizzes, homework, in-class work, class discussions, etc.) Major Grades Major grades less than a 70 may be retaken for up to a 70. It is YOUR responsibility to see me within a reasonable amount of time about retesting. Late Work Students are responsible to complete all work and turn it in on time. Late Papers/Projects will receive a 10 point deduction for each calendar day late. Failing daily work can be redone for up to a 70. It is your responsibility to see me within a reasonable amount of time about missing or failing work. Make-Up Work If a student is absent for any reason, it is their responsibility to check my website for any missed work. Make-up work is due the following class period, unless other arrangements are made with me. Make-Up Work Per district policy, regarding excused absences; Students are permitted the number of days absent plus one to complete make-up work. Any assignment or test not made up within the allotted time will earn a zero. Cheating & Plagiarism I will follow the Academic Integrity Policy of the district, included in the student handbook. A grade of zero will be given for work on which a student has cheated. What does cheating include? Cheating includes such acts as: Copying during a test. Sharing answers or test questions with other students. Copying information on any assignment in which an individual grade is given, Or plagiarizing.
