Quarter Four: Literary Circle Assignment For each Literary Circle meeting, you will provide example of quotes and analysis in your novel through a dialectic journal. You must have at least five quotes with your analysis for each meeting from the designated section of the novel for that particular meeting. In addition to bringing the typed copy to class, you must submit each dialectic journal to turnitin.com. In your meetings, you will be assigned a short article to read and discuss as well as have a discussion about your dialectic journals. From these discussions, you will develop one discussion question which you will need to post to Edmodo under your particular group. You do not need to answer your own discussion question, but rather answer another group’s discussion question, making sure to use direct quotes and specific examples from the novel in your response. The meeting dates/due dates for the dialectic journals are May 1st, 8th, 15th , and 22nd. Your discussion post must be submitted to your Edmodo group by the following day: May 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd. And your Edmodo responses are due by the following Tuesdays, May 7th, May 14th, May 21st, and May 28th. Example of the Dialectic Journal For each Literary Circle meeting, find at least five important quotes and analyze the quotes(analysis is always longer than the quote). Be sure to include the speaker (including narrator) and page number. Example: Quote Analysis “I had washed up there on the riptide This implies she has no real of my husband’s confidence and the control of her own life. Her undertow of my children’s needs.” husband is dominant and (Orleanna, p. 23) self-righteous while her children need her as any child needs a mother. She is being “washed up” and in the “undertow” at the same time which implies her being ripped apart.
