The next major Biome is the Taiga. Calen Middendorf Sydney Mickells Dylan Baker Tyson Lam •Few animals live in the Taiga because of climate •Some birds live in Taiga •Most mammals live in the Taiga •Some of the animals migrate to warm places •Most animals have fur to blend in with surroundings •Many swans, otters, and weasels live in the taiga •Cold winters, cool summers •Moisture moderate varies throughout year •Very cold Climate in winters •Gets 13 inches of rain In a year •Cold climate •Winters long and cold •Summers short and cool Not much plant life Common plant is conifer tree Rarely found club moss Some trees don’t drop there leaves Ground freezes so plants are unable to get water Trees grow close together Trees in the Taiga need to adapt to the climate •The wooly mammoths are extinct •Some animals in the Taiga are poached and killed •Anancus is a extinct dinosaur •The brown bear is threatened by being poached •Stellers sea lion is threatened because of fisher men •Corythosaurs is extinct Found in the northern hemisphere near polar region In Russia,North America,Europe, and Asia Mostly found in Canada Most of the taiga grows in the Artic circle Taiga is far up north Taiga is mostly unpopulated The Taiga is near the Tundra where we will visit next, in our biome adventure.
