Activity: Discuss verbs with students (action/state of being/verb phrases). Do examples together.

Lesson: Parts of Speech-Adverbs
Objective: Students will be able to identify and use adverbs in a sentence.
Activity: Discuss how adverbs modify verbs as well as a conjunction, preposition, or infinitive verb. Also
mention that most (but not all) end in “ly”.

Lesson: Parts of Speech-Pronouns
Objective: Students will be able to identify and use pronouns in a sentence.
Activity: Discuss the role of pronouns. Tell the students a noun and they are to replace with a pronoun (white
boards).
