Kieran Comerford – Head of Local Enterprise Local Enterprise Office Close Speaker & MC Profiles Anna Byrne Anna Byrne Local Enterprise Office Anna Byrne is Business Advisor with the Local Enterprise Office Carlow having worked in the Community & Enterprise Section of Carlow County Council for over a decade. Her work in Community & Enterprise involved working with individuals and teams at local, regional, national and international level. Anna was also involved in the Business Support function of the local authority assisting with the strategic development of County Carlow via the work of the Economic Forum. Anna has worked on a variety of Enterprise Projects in association with Carlow CEB including the Student Concept Competition, Experience Carlow @ NPA , Bizfest and Carlow Town Team. Anna’s role involves the advisement of start up clients up to 18 months in business and the operations of the offices soft support scheme which includes the provision of the Student Enterprise Programme and Female Entrepreneurship Network. Anna has significant experience in a variety of area’s including research, funding and financial management and has acted as a facilitator and mentor during her career. Prior to joining the public service Anna worked for over ten years as an Energy Advisor with the Electricity Supply Board, based in Sligo. Kieran Comerford Noel Davidson Henry Shefflin Noel Davidson QED QED General Manager and Senior Trainer - Specialist in Social Media, E-Marketing, Information Technology, Marketing and Sales Promotion, Business Improvement, Innovation & Entrepreneurship Noel Davidson is a business owner, mentor and trainer and General Manager of QED Training. He is an expert in social and digital media and is an Apple Product & Integration Professional as well as an Apple Certified Trainer (ACT). Between 2008 and 2010 Noel was employed with Sigma Telecom as Apple/Digital Lifestyle Product Manager with responsibility for their ICT sales team, developing new business, managing existing clients & product portfolios, setting and exceeding sales targets. Noel has worked with QED Training since early 2010 and has proven highly successful in bringing start-up and small business owners through the challenges of marketing, sales and digital media for the benefit of their business. Noel has extensive experience in person-facing roles in a number of industries including confectionary, hospitality, retail and leisure. Noel has conducted Idea Generation, Marketing and Social Media Workshops such as social media and digital marketing, social media for business, getting Irish business online, beginners and advanced social media workshops, small business websites, business apps, E-marketing, etc. to SME’s all over Ireland. Kieran Comerford Local Enterprise Office Kieran is the Head of the Local Enterprise Office Carlow having worked as Chief Executive Officer of Carlow County Enterprise Board. Kieran has worked in a variety of roles from retailing, banking, information technology and in the training sector during his career and has worked in the Enterprise Development sector since 2002. Kieran is a Director of Carlow Community Enterprise Centres Ltd which is a social enterprise that provides incubation and development space to Start Up and developing SMEs and has overseen 3 stages of expansion with a budget of over 2.2m euros. The centre now hosts 28 companies with over 130 staff daily across a variety of sectors. He is a graduate of the Quinn School of Business in UCD and also holds a post graduate qualification from IT Carlow and has lectured for the IATA in the areas of Management, Accounting & IT. Henry Shefflin Bank of Ireland Henry Shefflin (born 11 January 1979) is an Irish hurler who plays as a centre-forward for the Kilkenny senior team and is Enterprise Development Manager for the South East Region for Bank of Ireland A native of Ballyhale, County Kilkenny, Shefflin first excelled at hurling whilst at school in St. Kieran's College. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Kilkenny minor team, before later lining out with the under-21 side. He made his senior debut in the 1999 championship. Shefflin has since gone on to play a key role in the forwards for Kilkenny, and has won a record nine AllIreland medals on the field of play.[1] Shefflin is widely regarded as one of the greatest hurlers in the history of the game, with many ranking him as the number one player of all-time.[5] He has won a recordbreaking eleven All-Star awards, as well as being the only player to be named Hurler of the Year on three occasions. He has been repeatedly voted onto teams made up of the sport's greats, including on a special Leinster Hurling Team
