PERSONAL
My name is Stephen O’Neill. I am a programmer currently working at Cobra Mobile Ltd in Dundee, UK. I love to
learn new things and enjoy working on anything I have never done before. I enjoy taking on new challenges
and I’m always eager to give it my all. Although my background is mainly in games programming, I love
working on all kinds of software engineering projects. I have been fortunate to work on many different
projects throughout my career and I look forward to participating in many more.
I have attended the BSc Honours Computer Games Development course at Institute of Technology Carlow. The
course was four years long and I graduated in November 2011 with first-class honours. While there I competed
in Microsoft’s Imagine Cup competition in 2009 and partook in the 2011 Global Game Jam.
During my third year at IT Carlow I completed a six month internship with a disability insurance company called
Unum. I spent two months in the Irish office in Carlow and the other four months in their office in
Chattanooga, Tennessee. I was part of the UI team on a project that involved updating an established system
to now use newer .NET technology.
During my final year I entered the 2011 Dare to be Digital competition as part of a team of five. We were the
Irish finalists for the competition and travelled to Dundee to make a video game prototype over nine weeks.
Following Dare to be Digital I was invited to apply for a position at Cobra Mobile. Since starting in September
2011 I have prototyped several games, implemented localisation for two games, and ported those two games
to Windows Phone and Playstation Mobile. I have worked on iBomber Attack for iOS and PC, as well as Lego
Star Wars Microfighters for iOS and Android, and I’m currently working on a title yet to be released.
