This needs to be in class at all times and will be collected several times throughout the year. Issued novels need to be in class at all times. A folder will also be needed for handouts, worksheets, etc. Of course, you’ll need to bring the usual supplies as well (pens, paper, etc.). Attendance Show up to class; things work out better that way. Reading schedules and in-class readings need to be followed whether you are in class or not, excused or unexcused. You must initiate make-up work on your return the next class attended. Failure to do so will result in lost credit. Assignments/Grades Your grade is based on journals, test/quizzes, projects, daily class work, and homework on a cumulative point system, as well as your progress toward learning targets. Be aware of due dates. It is irresponsible and disrespectful to turn in late work without cause. Above all, please advocate for yourself! Theriot’s Class Expectations • Be on time with all supplies ready to roll! • Personal music will be allowed at certain times, usually during journals and writing essays. I only ask that you wait for instruction first before engaging. This privilege may be revoked at any time if abused. • I reserve the right to issue after school detentions if needed. This is usually for excessive tardiness, skipping, and/or stupid behavior. • Keep the room clean! • Be respectful of other people and their ideas!
