Pavilion Dance South West Marketing Coordinator (full time) Job role and description The primary purpose of the Marketing Coordinator is to provide dedicated PR and marketing support for the presented programme in the venue, Pavilion Dance. This includes live performances, live screenings & films, youth dance platforms, summer schools and summits, and the organisation’s learning and participation programme. The role also supports the Head of Marketing and Development in raising the profile of the activities of Pavilion Dance South West, both to the general public in and around Bournemouth and to partners and other stakeholders across the South West and beyond. Responsible to: Head of Marketing and Development Works closely alongside: Digital Marketing & Box Office Coordinator Fundraising Coordinator Learning and Participation Manager Youth and Education Coordinator Salary range: Hours: Base: £15,000 - £17,500 37 hours per week Pavilion Dance South West, Bournemouth Key Responsibilities: Promotion, Marketing and Audience Development Lead on the promotion of the presented and participation programme under the guidance of the Head of Marketing and Development, utilising a range of promotional tools, including print advertising and print distribution, and digital marketing tools in collaboration with the Digital Marketing & Box Office Coordinator Identify and implement opportunities for cross promotion of Pavilion Dance South West activities in association with other cultural providers and partners and support the Venue Manager in the marketing of Pavilion Dance spaces for external hires and events, e.g. parties. Lead on producing promotional print under the guidance of the Head of Marketing and Development, such as classes and film leaflets, and family and season flyers; ensuring quality, accuracy and timeliness Design adverts and flyers in-house with Photoshop as well as briefing external designers, liasing with printers and ordering print online Support the Digital Marketing & Box Office Coordinator to deliver on the digital strategy, to ensure that the website is up-to-date, that Social Media contacts are updated each season and that the Social Media profile of the organisation is current and fresh. Support Pavilion Dance South West’s fundraising objectives by sharing information with colleagues within the marketing and development team and assisting with the marketing of new fundraising programmes Press, PR and Internal Communications Support the Head of Marketing and Development in the day-to-day running of PDSW media relations – fielding media enquiries, writing press releases and briefing notes, maintaining up-todate records of press contacts and organising press events Generate regular media coverage by issuing and following up press releases and successfully placing editorial and features in local, regional and national publications, evaluating and collating the results Represent the organisation at events and activities in the community and take responsibility for organising special profile raising events for the organisation Provide support for PDSW events (create and put up signage; photography; flyering) Produce regular internal newsletters and updates Brand Follow brand guidelines and ensure brand integrity (including house style and tone) is upheld across all marketing materials and publications Administration Work alongside the Digital Marketing & Box Office Coordinator to support the administration needs of the marketing function, including research, events and mailings Provide support for meetings, including taking minutes, preparing papers etc Other Duties Work flexibly across the Marketing and Development team where required to support priorities Work on the front of house desk on occasion to greet customers, sell tickets and respond to enquiries Be aware of, and actively implement the organisation’s policies with regard to, for example, Equal Opportunities, Child Protection and Diversity Attend staff & other relevant meetings and participate in training and other forms of staff development and be available to work at evenings, weekends and bank holidays when necessary Undertake any other duties commensurate with the post as directed by your line manager Person Specification In addition to a commitment to the values, aims and objectives of Pavilion Dance South West, you will be able to show evidence of the following against which we will assess your application: Personal qualities A passion for dance and the arts Vision, imagination and creativity Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Self motivated and able to work flexibly as part of a small team managing multiple priorities Able to work within tight deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy at all times Highly efficient and able to maximise limited resources and time Able to work effectively in a busy office Able to learn new skills quickly Shows initiative and has a proactive nature A real ‘can do’ attitude to fit in with a hard-working, enthusiastic and motivated team Essential Experience and skills Proven experience in marketing and press/media relations Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to deal calmly, confidently and positively with people at all levels, both in face to face meetings and over the telephone Experience in the production and distribution of print First-rate written skills and the ability to convey a compelling narrative to a wide range of audiences Proven experience in proofreading and copy editing IT literate, with experience of at least Microsoft Office Proven administration and organisational ability Ability to be proactive and professional in all aspects of the role Desirable Experience and skills Experience of working within an arts or cultural environment Experience of working in an arts venue A degree, or equivalent, in marketing or similar Graphic Design skills and experience with Publisher or Photoshop Managing web content and using E marketing and social media tools Experience in photographing dance
