
Course Objective
This course is intended for students who have completed a first course in statistical methods. The
goal of the course is to reinforce and deepen students understanding of core statistical concepts
while familiarizing them with methods of prime value to engineers and scientists, namely hypothesis
testing, regression, ANOVA, and design of experiments. By achieving this goal, the course will
greatly increase students ability to model/analyze random practical phenomena.

Course Resources
Text Book : Montgomery, D., (2001), “Design and Analysis of Experiments”, 5th Edition,
John Wiley & sons, Inc.
Further readings
Montgomery D., and Runger C., (2007) "Applied Statistics and Probability for
