AP Psychology Review Packet Project (50 points) In preparation for the AP Psychology exam, you are going to put together a review packet for a chapter of your choice. Together, with you classmates’ packets, you will find this review packet invaluable not only in the short-term, but also in the long-term. Some of you may take an Introduction to Psychology course in college and you will be able to use the review packet for that course too! Guidelines Limit is 3 – 6 pages for your review packet Packet should be divided into the headings listed below Left and right margins at one inch, top and bottom margins at least ½ inch Final copy should be free of errors – other people will be reading this! Put a title on your first page and put a header on all of your pages identifying the chapter you have reviewed. The header can also be on the first page. If you need help with this, please ask me to show you how to insert a header. Make use of all the formatting available to you – bold font, types of font, underlining, numbering, highlighting, bullets, table/charts, color, etc. Final packets are to be posted to the shared Review Packet folder on Google Drive no later than Sunday, April 26th at 8:00 p.m. Packets received after this time will be marked down five points per day and will not be accepted after Friday, May 1st. The Assignment 1. Important Themes – You should have a themes section in which you list and summarize the important themes for the chapter. To guide you in choosing important themes you should use the following sources: a. the AP content outline available in the AP course description on edmodo b. the objectives listed in the chapter c. the chapter review in your textbook 2. Important People and Theories – A study of introductory psychology would be incomplete if you did not have a good understanding of major contributors to the field of psychology and their theories that generate discussion in the field. This is a section in your review packet where you can record the names of famous people and their work as well as theories about how the human mind processes information or why human beings behave the way they do. 3. Research – All throughout the year you have been recording research examples in your notes. Now you can use that information in your packet. In this section, describe any famous research examples your text author shared, and research we may have read about or seen a video segment of. Also, explain why they are important to understanding concepts in this chapter. Connect the research to important terms, concepts, and/or theories. 4. Vocabulary – For this section of your review packet, select essential vocabulary words to list and define. You do not have to define all of the words in the chapter. Instead, you should choose the vocabulary words that would be essential for a person to know and understand in order to carry on a decent conversation about the material in the chapter. Try not to repeat the information that you have shared in any of the other sections. Of course, many of the theories and possibly findings from research will find their way into the vocabulary section. If that is the case, make reference to where you may have presented the information before. Be sure to include tips for remembering essential vocabulary! Title your document like the following example. EX: Chapter 16 Psychological Disorders Review Packet (Put in your chapter number and chapter title) Save your document with the following file name format. EX: lastnameREVIEW_Chapter#.doc meadREVIEW_Chapter1.doc This is due on or by Sunday, April 26th by 8:00 p.m. Share your final copy in the shared Review Packet folder on Google Drive If you have any issues, send the file as an attachment in a message on EDSBY.
