A. Reading Comprehension and Use of Text
You will have to read three unseen texts and to answer 25 questions.
B. Literary Devices
You will have 10 literary devices to match with an example from George Orwell’s Animal Farm.
C. Short Answers
You will have two short answer questions. One will be on the prose texts “’See Spot Run’: Teaching My
Grandmother to Read” and “A Family of Firsts.” The second question will be a “to what extent” question
from George Orwell’s novel Animal Farm; look at the review sheet for the test on the novel!
D. Formal Writing Task
You will have one formal writing task based on Orwell’s Animal Farm. The task will be a letter, a speech
or a review. Aim for 250-300 words.
