To build on existing knowledge, to study some of the main institutions and treaties in international business law.
To develop understanding of the international legal order applying to business.
16. Syllabus
The syllabus covers a range of issues regarding the course topic. An indicative syllabus is as follows:








Introduction to International Business Law, its development and the role of international institutions
GATT and the World Trade Organisation: basic principles; the legal and institutional framework
The World Bank and the International Monetary Fund – legal issues.
International Intellectual Property Law: WIPO; TRIPS; and specific issues of IPR within an international context.
Selected treaties on international business law.
International Sale of Goods and transportation contracts.
International Commercial Dispute Resolution: international commerce arbitration, mediation and other ADR mechanisms as currently used in international business.
