What is Imaging Software?
 Drive Imaging not only backs up all the data on
your PC, it allows you to quickly restore your PC
to the state it was in when the backup was made.
 Creating a Restore disk for your system, that
provides a quick way to reinstall Windows and
applications
 Set up several identical PC's quickly by creating a
disk image of the first system set up, which would
the be used to install Windows and all the
applications on the subsequent systems, saving the
time to install Windows and the applications.
Why use Imaging Software?
 Drive Imaging is a quicker solution is to
deploy Windows, your latest hardware
drivers, and applications, and configure the
applications to save data to another
partition.
 Windows and applications reinstall time
will be reduced by 75% or more, and the
drivers and settings will be set correctly by
your standard.
Why use Imaging Software? (cont.)
 If you install and try lots of different software and
hardware, or like to tweak your system, each
change risks creating conflicts that might affect
system performance.
 If you have a Ghost image of your system, you
have a quick, safe way to restore your system back
to its original state before any changes.
 Computer enthusiasts who frequently upgrade and
modify their system will find Ghost a time saver.
Why use Imaging Software? (cont.)
 In big corporations, where each PCs are mostly
identical, you can install windows and all the
application software on one system, and then
create a disk image, which could then be copied to
the other system.
 Example places that would benefit from using a
Imaging Software:
–
–
–
–
Schools
Libraries
