BUS BULLETIN 1

In October of 2013 we started a tender procedure to enhance the quality of the bus transport to and from the HSL. Representatives from the school board, the AR, the staff members and MT were all part of the Transport Tender Team (TTT). The TTT invited five transport companies to participate in the tender.

Three of these companies then showed serious interest in the tender and presented themselves to the TTT, including their offer for the tender.

Consecutively the TTT made extensive observations in schools where these companies are involved to investigate their operations.

Additionally several rounds of meetings took place to decide which company would best meet the wishes and needs of the HSL as a fast growing school with specific requirements.

The TTT finally picked Global Network Transit Pte Ltd (GNT) as their top choice. An outfit with years of experience in school transport. Amongst others, they now provide school transport for the Canadian

International School.

Besides a good price quality ratio we believe to have found a partner in GNT that comes with high recommendations in terms of planning, communication, safety, tracking and customer service.

Besides all regular school transport GNT will also provide all other transport activities, like NSA, school trips and the club bus.

We are pleased to inform you that from the moment GNT are starting their services there will be a GNT officer present at the HSL during school hours to coordinate all transport. This transport officer will be your direct contact for all bus related affairs. Alex Foo is the name of the HSL school transport project leader for GNT. Further in this newsletter he will introduce both GNT and himself.

With the appointment of the new company there will be some changes. We would like to inform you of these in this and in future bus bulletins. We are also planning several Q&A sessions on Friday 14, 21

and 28 March following the assembly at 9.30 hrs.

Monday 14 April 2014 will be GNT's first day of their bus transport service. In order to provide GNT with sufficient information to start preparing we would like to point out a few matters.

GNT will basically take over the existing contracts parents now have with ComfortDelGro per 14 April. To facilitate the transfer of these

current bus contracts as smoothly as possible, we will share the address details, the e-mail address and the names of the HSL students with a bus contract with GNT. These details will solely be used to plan the routes and prepare online accounts. Your details will be treated confidentially by GNT and will not be shared with third parties.

 If you currently have a contract with ComfortDelGro we will share your data with GNT. In case you object to this procedure or in case you wish to terminate your contract per 28 March 2014, you may notify us by sending an email to adminhsl@hollandseschool.org

by Monday 24 February

2014 at the latest stating ‘Contract GNT ’ in the subject line.

 If you have no contract with ComfortDelGro currently and you would like to use the GNT service, shortly you will be able to go to the GNT Link via the HSL website to officially register your child/children on their website. More information about this registration process will be provided in next week's bus bulletin.

 The ComfortDelGro is terminated per 28 March 2014.

In the below table you will find the new bus transport fees per year and for term 3 (14 April – 26 June 2014). Compared to the ComfortDelGro fees, there is a 2% price decrease for Zone 1 and a small hike of 0.1% for zone 2 and 0.8% for zone 3. This price level applies throughout the school year 2014-2015.
