PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, seeks an experienced U.S. corporate immigration paralegal to join our
firm. This paralegal will be an integral member of a team of corporate immigration lawyers and paralegals
who specialize in all aspects of Canadian, USA and global corporate immigration.
Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; impeccable attention
to detail; ability to perform multiple tasks in an upbeat and sophisticated legal environment that serves the
interests of some of the World's largest corporations; and 3+ years of corporate US immigration law
experience.
Responsibilities:
Prepare petitions /applications for various for NIV and IV immigration cases, including: temporary work
visas (H-1B, E-1/2, TN, O-1, L, J); I-140 (EB-1,EB-2, incl. national interest waiver); I-485,incl. consular
processing; fiancé/fiancée petitions; applications for employment authorization document; travel
document; replacement I-94; I-90; I-751; naturalization; change/extension of status, including B2; PERM;
Motion to Reopen/Reconsider (I-130); Appeal (I-140); Prepare response to requests for evidence;
research law, procedure and keep track of immigration law updates; manage various administrative
duties including: maintain case management database, direct client contact-- phone calls, emails, and
postal correspondence; contact USCIS and U.S. consulate/embassies, scheduling visa appointment
interviews; assist in client intakes, prepare client mailings and submissions to various immigration offices.
Additional Responsibilities:
Global Immigration
 Manage files and assist visitor visa for various countries, as needed;
 Serve as primary point of contact for employees and HR departments;
 Research requirements for immigration documentation via internet, direct phone communication
with visa offices, host country government authorities, and local specialists;
 Interact with HR department and employees to obtain and complete documents required for
visitor visas applications;
 Prepare, organize and submit support/sponsor letters and all appropriate forms;
 Prepare and submit visitor visa applications to applicable consulates for approval;
 Submit visa applications;
 Communicate with government authorities on client files;
 Review documentation provided by local counsel for accuracy prior to delivery to client.
 Prepare instructions for employees.
Customer Care


Serve as primary point of contact for clients & HR departments;
Provide guidance to applicants and HR representative during the entire visa application process,
including processing timelines, extensions, amendments, transfers, and cancellations;








Interact with HR departments and employees to obtain and complete documents required for US
visas and work permits;
Follow-up on pending matters to ensure activities reach a timely conclusion;
Handle a high volume of immigration-related matters;
Develop and maintain an informative communication stream with clients to ensure that all
enquiries are addressed;
Follow up on documentation, completed questionnaires and forms; review case status;
Responding to client queries via email and telephone calls;
Monitor and follow up on status of applications in progress in process at the U.S. Citizenship and
Immigration Services (USCIS);
Follow up with clients to ensure receipt of visa/work permits.
Administration









Organize and maintain files for all US immigration matters;
Locate and preserve client documentation;
Develop, maintain and administer tickler system, database and calendars;
Organize preparation phone calls with the supervising lawyer;
Track and submit disbursements to financial division for processing;
Prepare pre-bills for clients detailing the work undertaken on behalf of the client, and associated
legal fees and disbursements, and provide to financial division for processing;
Compile and maintain monthly billing reports.
Using and maintaining INSZoom;
Maintaining file organization in accordance with office and Law Society procedures and
requirements.












Ability to work with minimal supervision
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills are essential including the ability to
relate to people at all levels
Ability to effectively prioritise, excellent organisation and administrative ability
Ability to multi-task, use initiative and to work well under pressure / to deadlines
Team player
The flexibility to work outside normal office hours may be required from time-to-time.
Strong knowledge of MS Office, INSZoom, PC Law (an asset), and legal data management
software (an asset)
Education, Professional Development & Work Experience:
 University Degree is an asset
 College Paralegal Diploma or Certification is an asset
 3 – 5 years of experience in US Immigration field
 Knowledge of US Immigration practices and procedures
